Victoria, Canada VSIE: Out of School Care Full time

**Overview**

January-June we have shifts available Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (2 45-5 30pm).

VSIE is a nature based school that emphasizes outdoor time and play. We are a lively team of friendly adults who enjoy engaging with children and staff members alike.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide attentive care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with daily activities, including snack preparation, emotional regulation, and playtime.
- Create and implement creative and physical activities that promote learning and development in areas such as fine motor, gross motor, and social skills.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages children's growth and independence.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to care and education.
- Arrive in a timely manner or communicate about tardiness.

**Experience**
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of various ages.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the development of young learners are essential qualities for this role.

**Requirements**:

- Up-to-date CPR-C and First Aid certificate
- 20 hours responsible adult course or the equivalent in university level or college courses.
- Two letters of recommendation (please have these available upon interview)
- Resume
- Must pass a criminal record check prior to commencing work.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 9.25 per week
