**Island Construction Environmental Ltd. - Foreman**

On behalf of our client, Jump Recruitment is now seeking a **Foreman**. This position is located in Nova Scotia, mainly operating in the Halifax area. Our client, _Island Construction & Environmental Ltd._, is a design/build contractor which has been operating for over 20 years. They specialize in building, renovating and maintaining small commercial buildings, such as gas stations and fast food outlets. Our client takes pride in providing their clients with high-quality projects from start to finish.

Reporting to the Manager, the **Foreman** will be responsible for the overall on-site supervision of projects from start to finish. The **Foreman** will work as an active member of the team.

**The Job**
- Provide on-site leadership of a team of 2-5 people for the project by building and motivating team members to meet project goals.
- Provide status reporting regarding project milestones
- Working on site to ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings, specifications and safety regulations
- Performing demolition work, renovation work, painting/plastering, framing, and outside groundwork
- Mentoring team members to ensure career growth and development

**Qualifications & Experience**
- 10+ years of commercial construction industry experience
- Experience with site civil work
- Background in carpentry or building/renovating commercial buildings
- Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities
- Familiarity with OH&S regulations and adaptation to the company safety policies and regulations
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
