**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:

- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or relative experience in trades.
- ERP Management System experience; would be an asset.
- University Degree/College Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of the Aluminium Extrusion would be an asset

**SKILL REQUIREMENT**

- Ability to communicate effectively
- Mechanical aptitude

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure that all production and related machinery are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure the required personnel are available for maintenance coverage
- Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program, which will include a parts inventory (including costs), thus reducing machine downtime.
- Obtain quotes for all outside vendors. All work performed by outside vendors shall require approval and shall be processed throughpurchase orders
- Initiate and co-ordinate all capital projects for plant upgrades.
- Shall participate in the recruitment and training of qualified personnel when required.
- Ensure that all safety and health issues are addressed in accordance with Company Policy and be a member of the JHSC
- Ensure the safety and welfare of the employees
- In conjunction with Engineering, the incumbent shall plan constant machine and plant improvements within budgeting parameters
- Ensures all plant requirements meet the required legislative requirements
- Assist the production supervisory group as required in the management of equipment down time
- Effectively deal with contractors in job requirements in the issuing of work requirements
- Day to day maintenance of plant and equipment as it arises
- Make Health and Safety recommendations
- Establishment and maintenance of preventive maintenance program
- Co-ordinates the maintenance personnel for the assigning of machine repair/upgrades
- Dealing with employee concerns
- Meeting with vendors and determining Company needs
- Drive continuous improvement processes

Be responsible for safety performance in the assigned areas:

- Take action to correct substandard acts or conditions.
- Observe and monitor employee safety,
- Ensure the standards of Sections 25, 26 & 27 of the OHSA are met.
- Use safety processes in all work and according to Dajcor Health & Safety, Environmental and Housekeeping Policies.
- Perform any other duties that may be specifically or generally assigned.

This position reports to the **Plant Manager**

Reporting directly to the incumbent is:

- Skilled Trades (Hourly Millwrights and Electricians)
- Controls Technicians

Pay: $70,000.00-$124,918.53 per year
