Tuesday to Thursday with occasional evening and weekend work. (option of occasional remote work)

The University Women’s Club brings women with post secondary education together to learn, grow, share, and thrive. Our private club, situated at historic Ralph Conner House, gives its members the opportunity to connect, contribute, and engage in a female positive environment. Building on a legacy spanning more than 100 years, the UWC empowers and advances the lives of women through targeted activities and member-driven programming. We are presently seeking an innovative, independent, individual to fill the position Communication and Membership Coordinator.

The Communications and Membership Coordinator will be responsible for managing UWC internal and external communications, maintaining UWC’s website, promoting events and activities, production and distribution of a monthly and weekly publications to members, supporting membership recruitment, maintaining the membership database. Working as part of a four person staff team the incumbent supports the marketing and promotion of fundraising and venue rentals and other activities as may be required from time to time.

Key duties include:
1.Executing UWC’s Marketing and Communications and Membership Recruitment and Retention plans and evaluating tactics on an ongoing basis

2.Maintaining UWC’s website using Wordpress

3.Designing and overseeing production of promotional materials for all UWC’s lines of business including membership, activities, fundraising, and venue rentals

4.Promoting UWC activities using traditional and social media including Facebook, Instagram, and MailChimp

5.Designing and distributing UWC’s monthly Bulletin, Bulletin Highlights, Week at a Glance and other regular communications to members

6.Serving as a point of contact for media and acting as a spokesperson when appropriate

7. Planning, organizing, and executing member recognition events and celebrations

8. Assisting with securing sponsorship support

Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree or diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in communications, marketing, or public relations

Demonstrated experience and proficiency using social media platforms, including Linkedin, Instagram and Facebook

Proficiency with content management systems and customer relationship management platforms including WordPress and MailChimp

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design program such as Canva

Exemplary written, oral, and interpersonal communication and customer service skills

Ability to prioritize work and provide self-direction

A fast learner with well-developed critical thinking skills

Demonstrated team player

Ability to lift/move items up to 30 lbs. and navigate stairs

Valid driver’s licence an asset

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
