Summer Sports Camp Lead

TOP Sports Camps is looking to hire responsible and energetic **Camp Leads to join our growing team at our Pretty River Camp, **for the 2025 summer season July 7 - August 15 (6 Weeks)

All applicants should be very organized and outgoing, and bring plenty of energy, passion, and engagement to every day. Experience teaching a variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, flag football, lacrosse, and camp games is an asset.

**Lead positions available at Pretty River Camp, Collingwood**:

- Kids Camp (Ages 4-6)
- Multi-Sport Camp (Ages 7-12)
- Sport & Adventure Camp (Ages 7-12) *biking experience is required *
- Basketball and Flag Football Camp (Ages 7-12)
- Soccer Camp (Ages 7-12)

**Camp Lead Applicant Requirements**
- Experience working in a leadership role or capacity at a day or overnight camp
- Camp counselor experience, specifically at sports camp
- Experience playing and coaching team sports AND/OR experience working with young children in a supervisory role as a teacher or early childhood educator
- Strong leadership skills and ability to delegate effectively with up to 3-5 counselors.
- Strong communication skills developed through previous supervisory roles along with the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills: ability to establish rapport and maintain excellent communication with campers, parents, and coaches
- Ability to encourage and motivate staff, and to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of others
- Works well with mínimal supervision, and asks for assistance when needed.
- Manages conflict situations appropriately and professionally.
- Excellent social and verbal communication skills.
- Required certifications include CPR & First-Aid, and Vulnerable Sector background check.

**Camp Lead Responsibilities include**:

- Camp Lead reports to the Camp Manager on site.
- Plan, guide, and oversee a section of the summer camp program, which includes 20-30 campers and 2-4 staff on a weekly basis.
- Oversee camp counselor, ensuring all staff are on-task and adhering to the TOP Sports Staff Code of Conduct.
- Oversee and implement all schedules for staff and campers in specific sections daily.
- Address crisis management, discipline, and troubleshooting issues related to campers and/or staff.
- Communicate professionally with campers, parents, staff members, and other community members daily.
- Responsible for adjusting daily camp activities and weekly schedules.
- Responsible for recording any incident or medical reports, including allergies, injuries, and conflicts.
- Responsible for execution of summer camp safety plan, including evacuation plan, inclement weather plan, and active threat plan.
- Coordination of all drop-off and pickup of campers throughout camp weeks, including any early pickups.
- Responsible for providing feedback to all camp counselors daily and through mid/end of season evaluation forms.
- Liaise with the Camp Manager on changes that need to be made to summer camp programming on a weekly basis, including staff changes, programming changes, and policy updates.
- Ensuring you are on-task and adhering to the TOP Sports Staff Code of Conduct.
- Operate all aspects of the summer camp program (including policies and procedures) in a safe, timely, efficient, and relevant manner in accordance with current standards.
- Responsible for traveling with and the safety of your group while at camp.
- Coordination of your group's drop-off and pickup of campers throughout week, including any early pickups.

- Pay Range:$760.00 - $810.00 per week
- Final compensation for this role will be determined by relevant experience and qualifications of the applicant.

**Pre-Camp Hours**:

- 5-10 hours in June working on camp preparation and camp training.
- Mandatory Camp Orientation Training:

- Date: TBD (Last week of June or first week of July)
- Location: 11521 ON-26, Collingwood, ON L9Y 5E7
- Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm

**Initial interviews will be done via video call. If selected you will be invited to a 2nd in person interview.**
