Summer Sports Camp Counselor

TOP Sports Camps is looking to hire responsible and energetic **Camp Counsellor to join our our Pretty River Camp team, **for summer 2025. All applicants should be very organized and outgoing, and bring plenty of energy, passion, and engagement to every day. Experience teaching a variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, flag football, lacrosse, biking and camp games is an asset.

**Pretty River Camp, Collingwood**: July 7 - August 15 (6 Weeks)
- Kids Camp (Ages 4-6)
- Multi-Sport Camp (Ages 7-12)
- Sport & Adventure Camp (Ages 7-12) *biking experience is required *
- Basketball and Flag Football Camp (Ages 7-12)
- Soccer Camp (Ages 7-12)

**Camp Counsellor Applicant Requirements**
- Summer camp experience is an asset, however not required.
- Experience coaching/teaching students of all ages in a variety of sports.
- Excellent leadership, social and verbal communication skills.
- Works well with mínimal supervision, and asks for assistance when needed.
- Vulnerable Sector background check certification is required.
- CPR & First-Aid is an asset but not required
- Manages conflict situations appropriately and professionally.
- Must be at least 16 years of age as of December 2025 (ie born in 2009 or prior)

**Camp Counsellor Responsibilities include**:

- Camp Counselors report to the Camp Lead of each specific section
- Oversee your summer camp group, which includes 6-10 kids on a weekly basis. Ensuring the safety of your group at all times.
- Follow the daily schedule provided to you by the Camp Manager.
- Ensuring you are on-task and adhering to the TOP Sports Staff Code of Conduct.
- Operate all aspects of the summer camp program (including policies and procedures) in a safe, timely, efficient, and relevant manner in accordance with current standards.
- Responsible for traveling with and the safety of your group while at camp.
- Communicate professionally with campers, parents, staff members, and other community members on a daily basis.
- Responsible for recording any incident or medical reports, including allergies, injuries, and conflicts.
- Coordination of your group's drop-off and pickup of campers throughout week, including any early pickups.

- Final compensation for this role will be determined by relevant experience and qualifications of the applicant.

**Mandatory Camp Orientation Training**:

- Date: TBD (Last week of June or first week of July)
- Location: 11521 ON-26, Collingwood, ON L9Y 5E7
- Time: 8:00am - 4:00pm

**Initial interviews will be done via video call. If selected you will be invited to a 2nd in person interview.**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $690.00-$730.00 per week

Expected hours: 40 per week
