**The Role**:
**Position Purpose**

The Soil and Groundwater Solutions (SGWS) Remediation Program Manager is responsible for safely managing environmental liabilities and delivering the SGWS Sustainable Risk Management program for all businesses within assignment area. Project portfolio may include multiple Classes of Business (CoBs) across various eastern provinces and regulatory regimes. This role can work virtually, and the team member will ideally reside somewhere within the provinces of Ontario or Quebec.

Accountabilities:

- Develop risk management strategies for reducing soil and groundwater environmental liability in a portfolio across multiple CoBs such as Post Closing Rights and Obligation (PCRO), Mobility, Distribution, New Energies, and Upstream, including complex environmental projects, sites in litigation and multi-party sites
- Manage projects across multiple provinces ranging from initial environmental site assessment through remedial action planning, implementation, reclamation, and regulatory closure
- Lead development and management of relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Drive Goal Zero performance culture with environmental consultants and their subcontractors using Learner Mindset, Human Performance, and other approaches
- Drive replication of best practices and identification of continuous improvements for managing SGWS projects across portfolio
- Oversee and ensure proper implementation of the Environmental Procedures Manual
- Ensure that Shell environmental standards are met on all projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal business stakeholders for applicable CoBs within portfolio
- Manage financial approvals and spend with environmental consultants to ensure compliance
- Coordinate provincial advocacy efforts to influence regulations, support development and approval of sustainable risk-based approaches

**Skills & Requirements**
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Minimum 10+ years of soil and groundwater assessment, remediation experience in a similar role
- Downstream soil and groundwater experience is required within Ontario, with Quebec experience an asset
- Experience in Project Management of soil and groundwater assessment, remediation and risk liability management projects is required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science is preferred with a focus in geology, hydrogeology, or another related Engineering discipline
- Approximately 10% to 25% travel will be required throughout Eastern Canada
- Fluency in French language is an asset
