**Host Family/ Activity Coordinator, Cambridge**
*Work from home, part time, with flexible hours
Canada Linc has been providing educational programs for international young people for 25 years. We provide several different programs which are outlined below. Our Local Coordinator’s responsibilities vary with each program but may include booking activities, interviewing local host families, placing international students in their homes and supervising activities.
The Coordinator will work closely with Canada Linc management. Training, supervision and support will be provided.
We offer 3 different programs:
**Summer Program: June 28-July 25**
- 30 teenagers attend St. Benedict secondary school.
- Preparation is from January until students arrive.
- Design a calendar with school classes, afternoon activities (ie, swimming, bowling, St. Jacobs market, Crawford Lake) and full day trips (Toronto, Niagara Falls, Wonderland, Grand Bend beach).
- Pre-book activities, obtain GRT bus passes, book classrooms, purchase supplies.
- Match a student with a well-suited host family.
- Communicate regularly with host families and local organizations.
- Daily check in at St. Benedict.
- Lead the afternoon activities and day trips (ie, take students on the bus to Toronto, see the CN Tower, take a ferry, go to the Eatons Centre).
- Troubleshoot problems that arise.
- Conduct meetings with students, group leaders, host families.
- Move students to new homestay if the original match did not work out.
**School Year Program: August 25-June 30**
- The students attend St. Benedict and Monsignor Doyle high schools to earn credits.
- The students are placed in a homestay that is welcoming, kind, and nurturing. The homestay provides accommodation, meals, and spends time with their student (ie, weekend family get togethers, grocery shopping, walk the dog).
- The Coordinator assigns the student to the host family and obtains a monthly report to see how things are going.
- If there are challenges or issues, the Coordinator will speak to the student/ host family and try to resolve them. Occasionally, the coordinator will have to move a student to a new homestay.
