**VISION**:
At the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA), we celebrate and honor the safety and healing of Indigenous Women and Girls as they take up their leadership roles in the family, community, provincially, nationally, and internationally for generations to come.
**SCOPE**:
The **Cultural Resource Coordinator** (Indigenous Cultural Knowledge keeper) role is a key component in the delivery of the ONWA Community Development Programs and ensures a range of wholistic services are provided.
This position is responsible for providing education and training on cultural practices, teachings, ceremonies and traditions to children, youth, families, community members, staff, and other community service providers. The Cultural Resource Coordinator will build relationships to share with knowledge keepers and elders across the province to build inclusivity of cultural services across Ontario.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Women’s Studies, Recreation or Health Sciences with a minimum 3-5 years work experience or combination of work and lived experience related to the role.
- Knowledge and experience in conducting traditional ceremonies including protocol around sweat lodge, pipe, drum, etc.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous cultures, traditions, ceremony and connecting Community Members to cultural practices that can be used in supporting Community Members.
- Thorough knowledge and experience working in and with a gender-based lens/perspective.
- Awareness of the recent, historical, and intergenerational trauma that Indigenous women and their families may have experienced.
- Understanding of cultural trauma-informed care and wise practices in providing trauma-informed care.
- A willingness to work flexible hours as needed to provide ongoing support and services to Community Members.
- Ability to travel when required.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous Languages is considered an asset.
- Must be physically fit and able to carry out land-based activities and ceremonies
- Knowledge of Indigenous, Metis and Inuit culture and practices.
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and be able to improve performance through management feedback.
- Valid G Class Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle with 2 million liability insurance and a clean drivers abstract.
- A working cellular phone and internet access is required within this position
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.
- Current, valid vulnerable sector criminal records check. Valid 1st Aid/CPR.

**Please know, this is a new role in which we are hiring for.**
**T**he full salary range for this role is $56,400 - $69,405. ONWA conducts annual performance reviews, and employees may be eligible for salary adjustments based on performance outcomes and available funding.**
