**About the opportunity**
Reporting to the Lead Principal, Audit and Assurance, Member Development and Support, this position provides input and recommendations on the evolution of existing products, services and resources and the introduction of new products, services and resources aimed at helping small and medium practitioners (SMPs) succeed especially through the development of the Professional Engagement Guide (PEG).
**What you'll do**
In this role, you will:
- Develop deep knowledge of the audit methodology and the step-by-step guidance for practitioners use in CPAC’s PEG and Quality Assurance manual (QAM);
- Provide recommendation in the engagement methodology and quality review use in CPAC’s PEG and QAM;
- Develop an understanding of practitioner’s challenges in various areas of their practice and their evolving needs for guidance and other support.
- Develop partnerships with other stakeholders who have complementary interests within the product portfolio;
- Represent Member Development and Support on committees involved in developing resources to meet member needs such as the Public Practice Advisory Services Sub-Committee
- Collaborate with colleagues in Standards, Research, Guidance and Support, as well as other operating groups across CPA Canada
- Work closely with other senior staff in MDS, other CPA Canada departments and Provincial Accounting Bodies to ensure appropriate research is conducted and monitor the continuing professional development needs of members/customers in public practice, focusing on SMPs.
- In conjunction with the Lead Principle, lead and manage volunteer advisory committees, including chairing and facilitating meetings
- Provide best practices on products and services for practitioners on how to perform assurance and compilation engagements and how to solve practice management issues relating primarily to SMPs.
- In conjunction with the Lead Principle, oversee all aspects of program design and execution which includes:
- Working closely with marketing team to ensure best possible reach and commercial success of products;
- Working closely with program managers to ensure programs are executed in a timely, professional and cost-effective way.
**What we're looking for**
- Must have a CPA designation and possess a minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in public practice
- Demonstrate and possess strong audit technical skills and solid knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls and risk
- Capacity to think about requirements from a strategic perspective
- Strong project management, analytical and technical skills; solid judgment and problem solving
- Exceptional and well-honed interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
- Team player with ability to work with multiple internal groups and external stakeholders in fast-paced, high-energy environment, people leadership would be considered a strong asset
- Keen interest and awareness of recent and emerging trends in the profession
- Ability to manage multiple large projects/products
- Knowledge and experience in adult education including development of educational programs is preferable
