Fleming is located in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes Region in Central Ontario, Traditional Mississauga Anishinaabe Territory and covered by the Williams Treaties,1923... a beautiful place to live and work, surrounded by natural beauty and a mere 90 minutes north-east of Toronto. The College’s 6,800 full-time and 10,000 part-time students, including hundreds of international students from countries around the world, attend at campus locations in Peterborough, Lindsay, Haliburton and Cobourg. Fleming offers more than 100 full-time programs in Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences, Fine Arts, General Arts and Science, Technology, Skilled Trades, Community Development, Health, Business, and Justice as well as other Continuing Education courses.

The Fleming Phoenix Mascot and Ambassador is responsible for entertaining and promoting spirit at various athletic events and campus activities, while portraying the school's values and image. The Fleming Phoenix Mascot and Ambassador is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is committed and passionate about promoting Fleming College. This position will work closely with the Athletics & Recreation Department and identified campus partners to enhance school spirit, build a sense of community, and engage with fans. The Fleming Phoenix Mascot and Ambassador will play an essential role in building a positive and memorable experience for student-athletes, students, staff, alumni, college and community stakeholders.
**Work Schedules**:
**This position has been designated as on-campus and is expected on-site 100% of the time.**:
Up to 24 hours per week, for a term ending March 28, 2025.

Completion of secondary school. Fleming Student or Graduate.
Six months of work experience:
- Passionate about Fleming College and the Fleming Phoenix.
- Customer service focused and prior experience in a customer service environment.
- Great interpersonal skills and engagement.
- Knowledge of sport and basic sporting rules.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, seeking advice from supervising as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and function as a team player.
- Able to work in a costume that weighs up to 20 lbs with limited peripheral vision and restricted movement.
