KAR Global is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst Co-op to help build out its digital marketplace of buying and selling used cars. We are undergoing a massive digital transformation and this position will play a key role in pioneering change within the Auto Remarketing Industry. You will have a direct impact on thousands of buyers, sellers, users, and customers across North America who use our online platforms every day.
KAR Global is a high-tech leader in wholesale automotive remarketing and services, generating $3.7B in annual sales. Our industry is changing rapidly, and in response we're developing the next generation of innovative products to meet customer needs. We deliver products that power thousands of virtual online auctions each year through several brands. Our largest brand - ADESA - supports 75+ physical auction locations throughout North America and online, selling millions of vehicles every year.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to be part of our Global BI team. We work in a fast-paced environment that is hungry for analytics and insights. Our growing business is investing heavily in technology and people and we want to measure the progress we are making and find paths forward.
In this role you will collaborate with business stakeholders to define business outcomes and conduct detailed operational data analysis and recommendations. You will acquire data, build models, and turn data into insights, enabling business partners to make informed decisions and break through ambiguity.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work with business stakeholders to track key success metrics to guide our investments in technology and improve our online operations and ROI
- Assemble and maintain compelling dashboards with leading indicators and business results metrics across multiple data sources and lead conversations leveraging the tools you create
- Identify key areas of opportunity and participate in development of product improvements
- Analyze data to ensure quality and help assess whether business value can be achieved
- Leverage SQL to prototype concepts, troubleshoot issues, and explore ad hoc business problems
- Work closely with the development team members to understand, build, and support data flows
- Ensure quality and accuracy across analytical products from the larger KR Data Services teams
**Requirements**:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in standard financial and operational metrics, ability to read a P&L and structure unit economics for a business
- Strong SQL skills
- Motivated self-starter, ability to initiate and drive projects to completion
- Experience with BI tools i.e. (Tableau, Domo, Looker, PowerBI, etc.)
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Data visualization and object orientated programming (R, Python, etc.) experience is welcomed but not required
- Experience working with online site / clickstream analytics - Google Analytics strongly preferred
