We are seeking a motivated and dedicated hostess to join our dynamic team at Habitat Social Cafe & Bar. The hostess plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greeting and Seating Guests:

- Welcome guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Maintain a courteous and attentive approach to ensure guests feel valued and comfortable.
- Reservation Management:

- Answer phone calls and assist guests with Opentable reservations.
- Keep track of reservation schedules and ensure efficient table turnover.
- Communicate effectively with the restaurant team to accommodate special requests and preferences.
- Maintaining the Waiting Area:

- Keep the waiting area clean and organized.
- Monitor and manage the flow of guests, ensuring a timely and fair seating process.
- Inform guests about estimated wait times and offer alternatives when necessary.
- Communication with Restaurant Staff:

- Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Relay important information about reservations, special requests, and any guest concerns.
- Handling Guest Concerns:

- Address guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
- Notify management of any issues that require attention and follow established protocols for resolution.
- Menu and Restaurant Knowledge:

- Stay informed about the restaurant's menu, specials, and promotions.
- Assist guests with menu-related questions and provide recommendations when needed.
- Assisting with General Restaurant Duties:

- Support the restaurant team in various tasks during peak times.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized dining environment.
- Upselling and Promoting:

- Promote special offers, events, and loyalty programs to guests.
- Encourage upselling by suggesting additional items such as appetizers, desserts, or drinks.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills to manage reservations and waiting lists efficiently.
- Familiarity with the restaurant's menu and services.
- A positive and outgoing personality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
