We are currently seeking a **_Linehaul Manager_** to join our team.

Reporting to the Director of Linehaul. The Linehaul Manager is responsible for managing the Gardewine LTL and Dedicated freight network between our terminals and our customers in the utmost safe and efficient way every day. Working closely with senior managers in each province, you will develop a skilled and experienced operations team whose goal is to ensure the cost effective use of equipment and staff.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Become the ambassador of the Safety Program by being engaged, following and assisting in the implementation of all safety initiatives including accident investigations
- Focus on providing exceptional Customer Service and cultivate a drive for excellence by ensuring on-time departures, on-time arrivals, correct staffing levels and availability of equipment.
- Assist HR in all WCB/WSIB claim management, including a return to work program.
- Develop and maintain consistent and fair allocation of work between drivers, O/O’s; based on miles, skill set, and tenure.
- Monitor and process trip sheets ensuring the proper payment of work time and miles.
- Develop, monitor, and manage key indicators including but not limited to cost per mile, empty miles, LCV utilization, use of third party equipment, revenue per mile, temperature monitoring, and weight/cube on outbound terminals.
- Compile daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
- Manage trailer and tractor banks on an on-going basis, focusing on utilization and productivity. Communicate (individually and through group meetings) with drivers and address any issues/concerns on a timely basis, keeping Driver Services in the loop at all times.
- Ensure mínimal equipment rentals through daily monitoring / management.
- Present challenges, opportunities, and/or risks for the department, to the Manager/Director, as they arise.
- Assist with training, developing and performance management of Linehaul team members.
- Participate in Freight Claims Investigations as required.
- Other duties and tasks that support departmental and organizational goals and objectives.

**Qualifications**

Ideally, you have three to five years working knowledge and experience in management within transportation operations. Demonstrated ability to manage a multifaceted Linehaul operation utilizing standard operating procedures, key indicators, and sound management principles. Excellent employee relations, communication, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills. Previous Class 1 driving experience will be considered an asset. Applicants with related experience may also be considered for this position.

**Physical Requirements**

Some of the physical demands may include, but not be limited to: pro-longed sitting and using a computer and telephone for entire shift etc.
