- The Research Ethics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the protection of the research participants and assurance of regulatory requirements/compliances and is the primary resource for all faculty, staff and students with the Research Ethics Board (REB) at Kwantlen Polytechnic University**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience with the research ethics compliance process, requirements, and/or research in a university, government project, or agency is highly desirable.
- Experience working with confidential and sensitive issues and materials.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Basic knowledge of policies and the regulatory framework governing research in a university setting. Knowledge of research procedures, guidelines and polices as well as of Canadian regulatory and policy requirements for conducting research.
- Highly motivated and creative to meet the challenges within a complex and evolving university environment
- Experience interpreting agency and regulatory guidelines and policies, and communicating those interpretations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to exercise high level of tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide range of contacts.
- Demonstrated computer skills (including databases, Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet).
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
