**Position Summary**:
The Administrative Assistant provides services in accordance with the Mission and Values of St.Amant, Health & Transition Services policies and procedures, relevant legislation and standards of practice. The Administrative Assistant is familiar with and promotes a customer services focus in the provision of services to clients, staff and in other professional relationships. The Administrative Assistant participates in continuous quality improvement activities and uses service evaluation feedback to purposefully and continually strengthen Administrative Assistant services. The Administrative Assistant works within the context of a team to provide service and is responsible for evaluating effectiveness and efficiency of their work to ensure outcomes are positive and beneficial. They perform all duties professionally, ethically and with integrity. The Administrative Assistant is familiar with information and policy, issues trends, practices or opportunities which may improve services. They are familiar with and adhere to all policies related to risk management and those of workplace activity, promotes and follows all relevant safe, healthy and respectful workplace practices. The Administrative Assistant works cooperatively with the lead Administrative Assistant in Health & Transition Services.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Health & Transition Services.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade XII diploma or certificate.
- Secretarial training, preferably college level.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
- Previous experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, clerk typist or word processing operator.
- Skilled in the use and operation of microcomputers, microcomputer networks, and computer peripherals such as printers and communication devices.
- Skilled in the use of Dictaphone, fax, photocopier, and other office equipment.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Ability to perform a variety of administrative tasks, both as part of team or independently.
- Ability to proof read documentation to ensure accuracy of typed material.
- Ability to deal effectively with others, both internally and externally in a professional manner.
- Ability to develop and use computer filing systems effectively and logically.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation in relation to PHIA, FIPPA and related organizational or program policies.
- Ability and motivation to follow direction conscientiously.

St.Amant is a bilingual organization. Proficiency in both official languages (French/English) would be considered an asset.
