**Purpose**

This position reports to the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef. Our cooks are responsible for the preparation of high-quality meals in accordance with Peake of Catering standards and menu specifications while meeting required food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.

**Major Responsibilities and Duties**
- Works under the direction of the lead Chef to execute meal services and prepare high-quality menu items
- Committed to excellence and driven to succeed
- Assist with the creation of new menu ideas when required
- Ensures adherence to all Peake culinary standards
- Performs food prep and/or cooks on the line
- Ensures proper handling of all food products, including reducing waste
- Ensures a great guest experience is achieved
- Maintains set standards around Health & Safety including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations

- Understanding of food and hygiene regulations (HACCP)
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and conduct
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Able to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment
- Able to work varied shifts including holidays and weekends
- Skilled in all styles of cooking
- Strong willingness to learn and develop your skills
- Strong ability to multi-task

**Working Expectations and Physical/Mental Demands**
- This role will require lifting of supplies, equipment, and product
- This position requires long periods of standing and moving
- Frequent interruptions from other team members while multitasking daily duties
- The immediate environment will frequently be noisy and busy
- Ongoing exposure to normal kitchen hazards (ovens, sharp objects, slippery surfaces)
- Frequent tight deadlines

**Experience, Education, and Training**
- Post-secondary education/training related to culinary/kitchen work
- High volume, upscale catering, hotel banquet, or restaurant experience with a stable work history
- Food Safe certification - currently valid
- Red Seal accreditation preferred

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
