We are a leading architectural millwork company located in Waterloo, Ontario and we are currently looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated employee to become a Cabinet and Millwork Installer for our Client Care team.
We are committed to helping teach the skills necessary for the successful installation and deficiency clean-up with our millwork on a project site and, as such, we are looking for a dynamic individual who is willing to learn the intricacies of installing custom cabinetry and the skills necessary to rectify deficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Field Operations Manager and works closely with our Project Management team. This position is part of our Client Care division and works both inside and outside the CCW shop; it is expected that this employee presents themselves in a professional manner when interacting with clients and/or contractors at project sites.
Duties will include, but will not be limited to, commercial and residential millwork installation as required.
- Willingness to learn how to install a variety of custom millwork and interior fabrication pieces across a diverse range of job sites, including restaurant, hotel, condominium, office, retail, institutional and residential spaces
- Willingness to learn how to provide after-project care, including the completion of millwork deficiencies
- Provide assistance on the shop floor using cabinet making skills when service work is limited
- Willingness to learn how to take or confirm site dimensions/templates for fabrication purposes
- Interest in learning on-the-job with one of our installation crews
- Assess and detail additional items that may be requested by the client or end user, to be used for estimating and manufacturing purposes
- Assist in unloading and inspection of product delivered to site
- Submit a daily report, complete with photographs of work progress and/or issues, to the Field Operations Manager and/or Project Manager
- Regular travel to project sites across Ontario
Skills Required:
- Basic understanding of carpentry
- Intermediate understanding of woodworking and installation techniques an asset
- Basic understanding of woodworking machinery i.e. table saw, planer, jointer, mitre saws, and routers
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/shop drawings an asset
- Good knowledge of various woodworking and construction materials
- Punctual, courteous and presentable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift 50-75lbs
- Must be able to work as an individual and as a team member
- Follow all proper maintenance, sanitation and health and safety protocols
- Perform duties in an organized and productive manner in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
