RYSE is a Canadian hardware company creating the next wave of window shade IoT products based on smart and simple designs. We're about inventing new 'Things' and re-writing the rules in Hardware. Our flagship product, the RYSE SmartShade was launched as a smart device that motorizes and automates existing window coverings and is controllable via smartphones and SmartHome ecosystems. We are continuously introducing new products in the window shades space with several ongoing projects in various stages of design and manufacturing. RYSE is looking for an Intermediate to Senior Product Manager to join our team. You will have the opportunity to lead the vision for new and existing smart home IoT products in the company. To be successful in this role, you need to thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy influencing, communicating, organizing and project managing across multidisciplinary teams. Your main responsibility will be to lead Product, and the NPI (New Product Introduction) process at RYSE, working alongside our Design, Engineer, Sales and Customer Success team. This may include introducing entirely new smart home devices, as well as accessories that accompany new and existing products in our portfolio. **You will be responsible for**: - Understanding of the market needs, the competition, size, players, trends, including customer pain points (through interviews, conversations, etc.). - Communicating with customers, end-users, channel partners, and stakeholders to gather research. - Work with our Design, Engineer, Sales, and Customer Success team to create solutions and products, translated into product requirements that balances research with intuition. - Guide the company in developing "what" to build in our products, as you identify and assess opportunities and ideas, and decide which ones are worth pursuing. - Develop the Product Requirements Document (PRD) or a product spec, for Industrial Design and Engineer team. The PRD must include Functional Requirements (for our design/engineer team), as well as Business and Market Requirements. - Product Strategy & Roadmap - responsible for the course of the product as it grows and evolves, including future product releases. **Requirements**: - University Degree in relevant discipline - 3+ years of work experience in Product Management of physical devices - Experience in working in smart home devices, IoT, and/or hardware a requirement - Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision as well as the drive and attention to details that transforms the vision into reality. - Experience with success in the full product life cycle, providing product vision/roadmaps (waterfall and sprint), PRDs, and bringing to market complex products on time - Ability to set and drive "big picture" strategy, while also providing detailed guidance on individual projects - Deep understanding of user story creation, UX design as well as technical and consumer requirements gathering - Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and an appreciation for producing good documentation - An understanding of UX and industrial design principles - Basic understanding of engineering - Management experience and experience leading a team **Benefits** - Full health and dental benefits - Remote & in-office work and flexible hours - A large degree of autonomy in design and implementation
