Industrial-commercial Door Technician

**Position**
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe installation, maintenance and repairs of industrial doors and you will be required to follow all policies, procedures and legislation.

The shift will follow a 7 on / 7 off schedule.

This position will be located at the BHP Jansen Mine Site near Lanigan, SK.

This is a camp-based position. Jansen Discovery Lodge at BHP is a state-of-the-art camp that includes the following: full-service cafeteria, housekeeping, gym with a raised running track, hockey rink, library, and theatre.

**Job Duties**
- Install doors and overhead doors as required and in-line with manufacturers specifications and recommended standards.
- Perform inspections and maintenance of doors and overhead doors on a regular basis to extend the lifespan of the doors.
- Diagnose door issues and perform repairs.
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or wear and/or damage of equipment to supervisor in order to facilitate corrective action and meet federal regulations.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
- Safely work from a ladder or platform.

**Qualifications**
- Strong knowledge of the service/installation industry
- Working knowledge of installing and servicing overhead doors
- Electrical knowledge for installation of automated industrial doors
- Canadian Door Institute or American Association of Automative Door Certification Training an asset
- Experience in the industrial construction and mining sector considered an asset
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Effective, self-managing, good problem-solving skills, planning, organizing and priority setting skills combined with a strong work ethic
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- First Aid / Safety Tickets an asset
