Program Support

**STATUS: Part-Time Temporary (12 month contract)**

**(Monday - Thursday, 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm)**

Reporting to the Unionville Community Centre for Seniors' Program Coordinator, the Unionville Community Centre for Seniors' Program Support (UCCS Program Support) will support the development and safe delivery of creative, innovative and meaningful recreation programs based on the dimensions of wellness and the diverse needs of our senior’s community

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Programming**:

- Assist UCCS staff in supporting existing programs and services; maintaining communications; supporting special events etc.
- Work with team members and volunteers to foster a cohesive, collaborative approach in running successful recreational programs;
- Assist UCCS members and visitors in the centre (in navigating the centre’s programs and services
- Help create a welcoming and supportive environment for all who visit UCCS.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and engagement with all stakeholders (clients, partners, staff, volunteers)
- Support the mission and philosophy of the Unionville Home Society (UHS) and the Unionville Community Centre for Seniors (UCCS)

**Administrative**:

- Support the Vision, Mission, and Values of Unionville Home Society.
- Ensure confidentiality of all information pertaining to staff, clients and operations.
- Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action.
- Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all clients and staff;
- Attend meetings/training as required.

**Health and safety**:

- Assist in providing a clean, healthy, safe environment for the programs and ensure equipment is set up and stored as required;
**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Attends functions and events in the Community Centre as required;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Volunteer or work experience in community programs/events
- Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple tasks
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word,
- Standard First Aid / CPR C / AED is an asset:

- Requires physical effort to move/lift chairs, tables and other equipment for activities Smart Serve and Food Handler Certification is an asset.
- Judgement to understand when decisions with respect to the client’s choices need to be made;
- Work well with team members, volunteers, supervisors and other department members;
- Work in an environment that includes pets, flowers, and perfumed scents and adjust to change in workday demands.

Unionville Home Society (UHS) is a not-for-profit charitable organization located in Unionville that has provided leadership in service to seniors since 1967. Unionville Home Society and its affiliate corporations operate a long-term care home, seniors’ housing, a seniors’ active living center, an adult day program, and geriatric outreach services. A Vulnerable Sector (Police) Check and TB Test and proof of full Covid-19 Vaccination are all required as part of the recruitment process.
