**Position**: Digital Matte Painter

**Location**: Montreal

**Facility**: Crafty Apes

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work with the CG Supervisor, VFX Supervisor, Production and Creative Departments to create matte paintings and set extensions, either standalone, or to be integrated into live-action environments.
- Produce concept and design work.
- Obtain a level of realism based on the art direction of the project while adapting to the show’s artistic style.
- Ability to create hard surface and/or organic assets.
- Meet all milestones while adhering to the show’s schedules and pipelines.
- Take direction and effectively communicate with team and management.
- Provide creative and technical input on projects to improve quality and efficiency.
- Organize workloads and prepare presentation elements for validations.
- Communicate and search for solutions and information when necessary.
- Maintain a good team dynamic.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in DMP and/or Concept Art in a VFX production environment.
- Bachelor's degree in illustration, industrial design, or fine art, is preferred.
- An advanced understanding of 2D and 3D workflows.
- Solid Generalist skillset.
- An advanced knowledge of the following:

- Photoshop
- Nuke, Maya and Mari
- 3D rendering
- Nice to have:

- Knowledge of RV and Shotgrid
- 2.5D / 3D projecting experience (3D generalist or Nuke compositing experience)
- Strong knowledge of photography, especially in relation to lenses
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
