The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is the largest Faculty on the Western University campus and employs over 2,000 part time and full-time faculty and over 1,500 staff. Distributed Education (DE) is part of the Education Portfolio of the Dean’s Office within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. It is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and is one of Canada’s largest distributed medical education programs. It is comprised of an Assistant Dean, Rural & Regional Community Engagement, an Associate Director, and 600+ preceptors located in over 60 communities located throughout Southwestern Ontario. DE facilitates rural and regional education and training opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate learners. **Responsibilities**: The Faculty Engagement and Project Coordinator will be responsible to oversee the logístical and day-to-day activities of various faculty-focused and project-based aspects of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry (SSMD)’s Office of Distributed Education (DE) and Windsor Campus. The role will play a key part in the faculty appointment process and will coordinate various human resources and financial processes as well as continuing professional activities, contributing to faculty engagement. The Faculty Engagement and Project Coordinator will provide guidance and support for a wide range of administrative, human resources, and financial functions and processes, and ensure they are carried out in compliance with all of Western's relevant administrative policies and procedures. The role will also develop and update project plans, and assist with the design, implementation, and evaluation of project components. The Faculty Engagement and Project Coordinator will communicate progress updates to stakeholders and schedule meetings, respond to inquiries related to the projects, and support the collection, analysis and dissemination of project results. Through the Faculty Engagement and Project Coordinator, SSMD will develop stronger connections with our distributed faculty through consistent communication and various events where the faculty needs, geographical locations and interests are measured and continue to develop new initiatives and enhance current programming and project operations. **Qualifications**: - Education: - Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or relevant discipline - Project Management Professional certification completed or in progress is preferred - Experience: - 3 years of project management experience in a business office environment - Experience working in an academic environment is preferred - Experience assisting with the preparation of budgets and monitoring accounts is preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Familiarity with coordinating and processing clinical faculty appointments (such as faculty payments for a rotation or lecture) - Familiarity with techniques for planning, managing and coordinating projects, with competing priorities, that involve a variety of stakeholders, with the ability to manage projects from conception through implementation and evaluation within tightly prescribed timelines - Knowledge of assessment and evaluation in relation to programming - Familiarity with financial principles and budgeting with the ability to ensure expenditures and resources are within allotments, and to make appropriate modifications when required - Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit - Communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience - Attention to detail and proofreading abilities with an excellent command of the English language - A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills - Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the unit’s events and activities - Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to trai
