**Course Number and Title**:WGS160Y1Y - Introduction to Women and Gender Studies

**Course Description**:An integrated and historical approach to social relations of gender, race, class, sexuality and disability, particularly as they relate to women's lives and struggles across different locales, including Canada.

**Enrolment Estimate**:350 students

**Estimated TA Support**: 1800 hours + 158 Writing Instruction for TAs hours

**Class** **Schedule**:Wednesday 6pm-8pm

The delivery method for this course is currently 100% in person. In keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty of Arts and Science or the Women and Gender Studies Institute.

**Sessional dates of appointment**:September 1, 2024 - April 30, 2025

**Salary (includes vacation pay)**:
$18,915.79 (Sessional Lecturer I);
$19,861.58 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term);
$20,243.53 (Sessional Lecturer II);
$20,653.23 (Sessional Lecturer II Long Term);
$20,725.52 (Sessional Lecturer III)
$21,140.03 (Sessional Lecturer III Long Term);

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

**Minimum Qualifications**:Completed Ph.D. with a scholarly background in areas related to the specific course required.**:
**Preferred Qualifications**: Teaching experience of a similar course at the university level. Experience using online teaching and learning platforms, apps, and software is also preferred.**:
**Description of Duties**:

- Preparing the syllabus, reading list and lecture materials
- Delivering lectures
- Developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests and final assessments
- Holding regular office hours
- Supervising a teaching assistant(s), including overseeing grading and providing guidance concerning engagement with students
