This is an emergency posting Number of positions available 1 Course title ECO202Y5Y - Macroeconomics Theory and Policy Section LEC0201 - Wednesday 9:00am to 11:00pm and Saturday 11:00am to 1:00pm (times subject to change) Dates of appointment January 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026 (actual work may extend into May 2026) Delivery The mode of instruction for this course will be in person. Description of Course Macroeconomics studies the economy as a whole. The issues it covers include: Why are some countries much richer than others? Why do most Canadians live much better than their ancestors? Why are there recessions in economic activity? What are the causes of inflation and unemployment? What are the consequences of opening up trade and investment with the rest of the world? This course develops a series of models to answer these and similar questions. Estimated Teaching Assistant Support 190 hours Position Description All normal duties related to the design, administration and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; supervision of teaching assistants; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and examinations, including make‑up tests; calculation and submission of grades to university officials; holding regular student office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student contact. Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching and mastery of subject area Previous experience in teaching this, or related course, at university level Demonstrated Excellence in delivering online courses in a remote setting. Preferred Qualifications PhD in Economics Professional experience in Finance industry Salary $9,820.70 at Sessional Lecturer I 0.5 FCE rate (inclusive of vacation pay) $10,510.04 at Sessional Lecturer II 0.5 FCE rate (inclusive of vacation pay) Salary rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail, in the event in a discrepancy of rates with this posting.
