**Continuing Education - Technology & Skills - Woodworking**

Continuing Education at Mohawk College offers a wide variety of programs, courses and workshops designed for those seeking professional development through upgrading, retraining, or for personal interest.

Mohawk College is currently recruiting for qualified professionals to teach the following courses:
Woodworking Level 1

Woodworking Level 2

Woodworking Level 3

Woodworking for Women (All Welcome)

**Responsibilities**:

- ** **Delivering the course(s) as described in the course outline and/or in the curriculum provided by the Program Manager.
- Preparing materials that fulfill the course learning outcomes, planning lessons, developing assessments and exams that reflect the integrated nature of the curriculum.
- Updating course outline and lesson plans to current technology/standards.
- Ensuring the integrity of the content being delivered is upheld.
- Evaluating student progress against the learning outcomes.
- Maintaining records, course materials and utilizing Mohawk data systems for grading, course updates etc.
- Posting online content, monitoring the LMS and responding electronically to students within 48 hours.
- Creating a positive, collaborative, and engaging learning environment that upholds the principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
- Ensuring adherence to Mohawk College’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
- Working creatively, collaboratively, and collegially with administrators, colleagues, staff, and learners.
- Managing the educational environment to facilitate an optimal learning experience and learner success.

**Qualifications**:

- ** **Relevant Trade Certification and/or Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in a related area.
- 3 - 5 years industry experience in relevant industry.
- 3 - 5 years post-secondary teaching/training and/or experience.
- Familiarity with learning management systems would be considered a strong asset.
- Online teaching or learning experience would be considered a strong asset.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
