**Job Summary**
The General Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the construction sites in their assigned region, with a focus on the projects and the people working on them, particularly the Foremen, providing them with the knowledge/information, mentorship, and supervision to manage their site and result in a successful project.
The General Supervisor collaborates closely with the Project Manager to effectively relay project plans to the appropriate Foreman on site, while also reporting back any site-related concerns that may impact safety, schedules, or budgets. The General Supervisor also liaises with the Program Team to ensure the alignment of training from the classroom to the construction site, and the effectiveness of the skilled labour team as Trainers. This is a key role as liaison between the office and field teams.
**Responsibilities**
**People Development**
- Regularly visits construction teams onsite to lead employees and report on results to the Project Manager
- Manages/edits time and attendance records per payroll standards; reviews for discrepancies and errors and follows up with Working Foreman for answers; edits timecards, final sign off on all time sheets.
- Provides honest feedback and coaching to the Working Foreman team; Identifies up-skilling opportunities and works with Human Resources and Training Manager to provide that learning.
- Teaches & mentors Working Foreman in construction and leadership skills; Supports the Working Foreman team in their leadership of the Skilled Labour team; includes team and individual recognition and rewards, coaching on performance management, holding others accountable, navigating difficult conversations etc.
- With Manager of Trainer Development ensures that Skilled Labourers have the skills needed to be effective Trainers
- Ensures construction teams are in compliance with all company policies and regulations.
- Informs Project Manager and HR of any employee issues that arise on site with the Construction Team; works with Project Manager and HR to address areas of concern and to navigate progressive discipline.

**Project Management**
- Ensures that projects meet timelines and budgets through direct conversation with the Working Foreman team.
- Ensures that the quality of work completed meets the standards of construction as set by Community Builders.
- Proactively provides information regarding time and budget to Project Manager.
- With Project Manager and Foreman team, ensures that each site has the necessary materials, equipment and safety supplies on site and on time
- Based on the job schedule created by the Project Manager, creates weekly work schedules and delegates responsibilities for the full construction team in their region
- Hosts close-out meetings at end of each contract; ensures project team and Project Manager are aware of the successes and opportunities of each build/project.
- Catches extras outside the scope of work and ensures a timely report with options/material list and labour needs are given to the Project Manager
- Identifies new and better construction methods/materials and makes proposals to the Project Manager for adoption.
- As directed by the Project Manager, assists in sales by conducting site visits, answering customer inquirers, completing measure ups and call backs; attends pre-construction meetings.
