Overview:
The ECAN Aggregates Head of Soil Solutions’ objective is to develop & grow the Soil Solutions business unit, driving incremental profitability and maximizing the return of available capacity through network expansion, logistics optimization and soil processing solutions.

In alignment with our Mission to decarbonize construction the incumbent will look for opportunities to maximize the reutilization of aggregates from Soil Solutions operations (reclaimed and recycled aggregates) and will also collaborate with Geocycle to define common opportunities, allocate resources and define the execution plan aiming to maximize value to Lafarge.

The incumbent is responsible for the development and execution of the Soil Solutions unit business strategy, operational and commercial business plans, investment plans, and to provide leadership to all organizational resources within the Soil Solutions business unit, within a culture that is performance oriented and holds health & safety as a core value.

**Responsibilities**:
**Safety**:

- Leads the business unit with the utmost focus on health & safety; proactively implements Lafarge ECAN best practices and complies with Group requirements.
- Engages with all levels of employees in this regard and ensures personnel are actively seeking out real time solutions to identified risks.
- Ensures all Lafarge process and policies are in place and adhered to by the employees
- Takes a leadership role in ensuring policies are in place to ensure the safe operation and off-loading of 3rd party haulers

**Leadership**:

- Leads the business unit with a dynamic and entrepreneurial approach, actively searching and assessing potential opportunities across 4 ECAN Aggregates markets (SW, GTA, EO, GMA). Identifies, assesses and implements new technologies, builds relationships, networks and systems to maximize opportunities and accelerate growth, including M&A and Joint Venture opportunities.
- Proposes the organization structure and team roles and responsibilities, providing leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to stretch and challenge staff to deliver results & strengthen relationships within the team, functional units, and customers.
- Conducts regular meetings with clear agendas and priorities. Communicates company initiatives and pursues best practices.
- Tracks team progress/achievements through regular interaction, including but not limited to joint customer visits, plant inspections etc.
- Defines, implements and promotes systems and processes to ensure the highest standards of chain of custody and compliance monitoring for our operations. Represents Lafarge with industry and government stakeholders to promote our ambition to raise the standard of operational and regulatory compliance to ensure proper environmental stewardship related to the Soil Solution segment.

**Sales & Customer Focus**:

- Takes a leading role in Business development, including identifying and developing relationships conductive to the growth of our business or incorporation of new revenue streams
- Understands the regulatory environment, internal capacity and competitive landscape looking to maximize our participation in high compliance - high margin segments within our operational capabilities, aiming to maximize profitability for Lafarge and return on capacity.
- Oversees the implementation of effective Sales processes and tools to create structure, proactive planning, progress tracking and accountability in the sales process.
- Respects and implements the ECAN Price Margin Management (PMM) process
- Records and signs off all contracts above the local set thresholds
- Achieve annual EBITDA target
- Contributes to the achievement of ECANs recycled aggregates volume growth target

**Operations Management**:

- Ensures that all Soil Solutions operations are fully integrated within the receiving site and in alignment with the site’s safety, circulation and operational plans. Ensures that all aspects of the process have clear accountabilities and are communicated and validated by the site leadership.
- Implements best practices, processes and tools to ensure activities are optimized and operational costs are best in class.
- Ensures expectations for chain of custody and other Circular Economy processes are clearly stated and communicated to site personnel, including cross unit leadership teams
