**Job Overview**
The Lake Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the lake facility, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for outdoor recreation. The Lake Manager will coordinate activities, manage staff, and maintain the overall cleanliness and safety of the lake area.
**Duties**
- Supervise daily operations of the lake facility, including staff management and visitor services.
- Develop and implement programs and activities that promote recreational use of the lake.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies.
- Monitor water quality and maintain equipment necessary for lake management.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback to enhance visitor experience.
- Organize staff schedules and conduct training sessions to ensure high service standards.
- Collaborate with local authorities and organizations to promote community engagement.
- Maintain accurate records related to facility usage, maintenance, and incidents.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for all aspects of the day to day operation of the Crystal Shores Beach House including but not limited to:
Operations:
- Overall Maintenance of Facility with Maintenance Team
- Overall Maintenance of Grounds with Maintenance Team
- Overall Maintenance of equipment and supplies with Maintenance Team
Staffing:
- Posting, hiring, orientations, and evaluations of all staff
- Staff meetings, in-services and team building events
- Provide supervision to all Beach House Staff
- Schedule all staff to meet the Alberta Employment Standards and the needs of Crystal Shore BeachHouse (currently under review)
Marketing/Communications:
- Update and maintain the Beach House website along with Office Assistant
- Production and distribution of New Member package along with Office Assistant
- Update and maintain the Beach House Facebook page along with Office Assistant
Programming/Special Events:
- Plan a 4 season program calendar (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer) to include a variety of registered and drop-in programs
- Plan seasonal Special Events - Halloween Party, Christmas Party, Lunches, Xmas Lunches, Easter Fishing Derby 2 x a year.
- Promote and advertise all programs and special events
- Wednesday lunches - shopping / prepping and serving each Wednesday Oct - April
- Wednesday Xmas Lunch - shopping / prepping and serving - bigger event
Concession
- Stocking and shopping for the concession on an almost daily basis throughout Summer period.
- Ensuring Alberta Health standards and being adhered to.
- Training all staff in the concession with the rules of hygiene and protocol around handling food and moneyFinancial:
- Preparing, updating and presenting the yearly operation budget to the Board of Directors
- Bookkeeping including A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations and monthly financial reports
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers’ compensation forms, pension contribution forms and annual GST remittance
- Responsible for the invoicing and collection of encumbrance fees and providing a report to the Board of Directors on overdue accounts.
- Responsible for chasing all out standing invoices before going off to collections
- Responsible for chasing all outstanding admin & interest charges unpaid.
- Procurement of all goods and services required for the day to day operation of the Beach House. Written quotes are to be submitted to the Board of Directors for any goods or services over $2000 in value
- Inputting all sales in to Simply in order to ease some burden from accountant
- Processing Simply alongside WOLF
- Making cheques and online bill payments
- Submitting pay information to ADP bi-weekly.
- Checking schedule and hours matching.
Occupational Health and Safety: (Currently under review)
- Develop and maintain OH&S program that complies with all OH&S regulations
- Submit all monthly incident forms and any WCB claims to Board of Directors
- Ensure all staff receives mandatory safety training i.e. 1st Aid certification and remain update on all certifications.
- Maintenance of Food Safety Standards
Other:
- Assist in the preparation of the Board Meeting agenda’s and AGM and act on direction provided by the Board
- Responsible to create and implement operational procedures in conjunction with the Board of Directors
- Responsible to maintain update on the Beach House member rules. Ensure the updates are posted and accessible to all members. Ensure staff has received adequate training on all updates.
