**Lead, Strategic Access**
**Position Overview**
As the Lead of Strategic Access, you will lead a national team in the development and implementation of strategies aimed at obtaining optimal provincial coverage for Janssen products outside of Quebec. The Lead will be an integral role within the broader Access division, bringing important insights and broader leadership.
**Key** **Responsibilities**:
- Lead a national (ex-Quebec) Strategic Access team in the development and implementation of national and regional strategies aimed at ensuring optimal provincial and federal coverage for Janssen products with public payers
- Represent Janssen interests with provincial payers and influencers
- Develop and maintain strong networks of regional reimbursement decision-makers and influencers across the country (ex-Quebec) and integrate in the development of strategic reimbursement plans
- Collaborate with Lead, Strategic Access (Quebec), Lead, Stakeholder Engagement, and Manager, Strategic Advocacy, to enable alignment with cross-Canada strategies
- Develop a leadership role with industry associations, notably, Innovative Medicines Canada, to ensure Janssen’s interests are being driven forward
- Actively negotiate listing agreements with public payers, as required
- Identify and develop win-win partnerships between Janssen and key funding influencers, leverage key partnerships and initiatives
- Develop strong relationships with key business partners, including communication of reimbursement environment information, as it impacts Janssen business, and collaborate in the development of brand strategies to enable Janssen to win for patients in a changing reimbursement environment.
- Play a leadership role on the Access Field Team
- Lead a team to a high level of engagement and performance including hiring, development, coaching and overall performance management
**Qualifications**
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or political science; pharmacy degree is preferred; an advanced degree is an asset.
- A minimum of 8 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or government including 3 to 4 years in Market access/reimbursement
- Extensive knowledge of the public payer and healthcare environment, and related customer
- Demonstrated track record in leading, developing, and coaching a diverse team is required
- Excellent negotiating skills, strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, scientific and analytical skills.
- Experience working in multiple therapeutic areas ideally oncology, immunology, neuroscience, infectious diseases and vaccines, a strong asset.
- Experience in pharmaceutical sales/marketing an asset.
- Demonstration of strong interdependent partnering and high level of customer focus.
- Demonstrates the competencies in strong customer focus, collaboration & teaming, strategic and innovative thinking and the ability to master complexity.

- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
