Gatehouse Security Guard

**Blackbird Security Inc. **is expanding our team to service an exciting new project in **Ajax, Ontario**. We are recruiting Gatehouse Security Guards for this site.

Security professionals need to maintain a valid security license, exercise responsibility, use caution, and demonstrate exemplary customer service skills. While tasks may vary depending on the client’s specific needs, our guards are expected to
prepare to fulfill the entirety of these job descriptions.

**What you will do**
- Establish a strong security presence to maintain site safety and access control
- Control vehicle access to the facility, including coordination with site staff for timely response to arrivals
- Provide access control and respond to emergency situations in an appropriate and timely manner
- Perform safety checks, scanning tokens and data entry for vehicles at check in and check out points in a timely manner.
- Log all arrivals and departures, and other data, promptly and correctly
- Perform safety and security duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
- Liaise with site staff to ensure all vehicle traffic is accounted for on and around the site
- Identify potential security risks and hazards and respond accordingly
- Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons
- Respond to emergencies and escalate to law enforcement agencies as required
- A Valid Security License
- A keen interest in asset protection
- Previous security experience in a gatehouse environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to attend meetings and improve skills’
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Senses of Reliability and Responsibility

**Requirements**
- Valid Security License
- Previous Security experience required
- Previous Gatehouse Experience is an asset
- Access Control experience is an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous Customer Service and/or Concierge experience is an asset
- Previous Warehouse experience is an asset
- Use of Force certification is an asset

**Salary**: $19.00-$21.25 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ajax, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
