We are currently seeking experienced and caring Personal Support Workers (PSWs) on a casual basis to join us in delivering exceptional care to those in need.

**Position Overview**: As a Personal Support Worker at Afya-Bora Home Healthcare, you will play a pivotal role in providing hands-on assistance to individuals of all ages requiring support with daily living activities in their home, at school or in the community. We are looking for empathetic and skilled individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of our clients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), helping clients with bathing, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Dressing: Assisting clients in selecting and putting on appropriate clothing.
- Helping clients move from one position to another, such as getting in and out of bed or transferring from a wheelchair.
- Assisting with planning and preparing light nutritious meals.
- Providing support during meals, including assistance with feeding if necessary.
- Ensuring clients take their medications as prescribed.
- Helping clients with self-administration of medications.
- Offering companionship and engaging in social activities with clients.
- Providing a listening ear and offering emotional support to clients and their families.
- Assisting with light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and organizing the living space.
- Helping with laundry and maintaining a clean environment.
- Observing and reporting changes in the client's physical or mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining accurate records of care activities and any changes in the client's condition.
- Assisting with prescribed therapeutic exercises or activities.
- Communication and Collaboration with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for the client.

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Personal Support Worker Certification from a recognized Personal Support Worker program or equivalent certification.
- Up-to-date training in CPR and First Aid.
- Experience as a PSW in a home care, long-term care, or community health setting.
- Demonstrated empathy and a compassionate approach to providing care and support.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to adapt to varying schedules and work in a flexible, casual capacity.
- Punctuality and reliability due to the nature of job.
- Good physical health and stamina to assist with activities of daily living, including lifting and transferring clients.
- Ability to observe and report changes in the client's condition to healthcare professionals.
- Adherence to ethical standards and respect for the privacy and dignity of clients.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare professionals and support staff.
- Ability to commute to duty station on time using public or private transportation.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
