**Job Details**

The Vine Care is looking for dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSW) to join our amazing team looking after a Nursing Home in Hamilton. With loving hearts and tender hands we can make the difference in the lives of the ailing and seniors in our communities.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Deliver client focused care within the full scope of practice of a PSW.
- Provide personal care in accordance with individual needs.
- Assist with meals, feeding, providing nourishment supplements as needed.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the service plan by observing, communicating and recording appropriately.
- Ensure on an ongoing basis that the emotional comfort, physical comfort, and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Reports issues and concerns to the Supervisor, Nurse in charge, Director of Care or Clinical Manager.

**Requirements**:

- Current First Aid / CPR
- Current immunization record (TB test completed within the past 12 months) is required upon hire
- Current vulnerable sector check screening (no more than six months old) is required upon hire
- Government issued ID
- Proof of Covid Vaccination (At least 2 doses)
- Two professional references
- Comfortable working in a Nursing Home
- **Availability to work minimum of 5 days a week** including some weekends. (Days, Evenings and Overnights)
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent organizational skills to manage your schedule
- Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills, to effectively communicate with clients and team members
- Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Basic computer/smartphone skills would be an asset
- This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement

Please note that in the interest of the health and safety of our patients/clients, employees, and greater good of public health, The Vine Care **requires those who wish to work for this organization to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.** Fully vaccinated means a person has received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and it has been 14 days since the last dose.

**Licence/Certification**:

- CPR Certification (preferred)
- PSW Certification (preferred)
- Gentle Persuasive Approach-GPA (preferred)

**Experience**:

- PSW: Minimum of 1 year (required)

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $24 per hour

**Schedule**:

- 8 hour shifts
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Overnight shifts
- Weekend availability
- **Hamilton, ON**: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Work Location**: In person
