**About the position**
- The Vice-Principal assists the Principal, within the mandate defined by the Principal and under her supervision, in the pedagogical, educational and administrative management of the school, with a view to encourage the success of all students, in accordance with the guidelines of the French and Ontario Ministries of Education and aligned with TFS' mission, vision and values.
- Duties will include, but are not limited to
- Personnel management_- Ensure that the responsibilities of each staff member are clearly defined, studied, understood and put into practice.-
- Promote collaboration among colleagues and encourage engagement within the school community.-
- Establish trusting relationships with members of the school community and effectively communicate TFS' mission, vision and values.-
- Plan, organize and facilitate team meetings to achieve the objectives defined by the school project.-
- Supervise and support teachers and administrative staff in their professional development.-
- Participate in the identification of needs and organize professional development and continuing education activities.-
- Establish schedules and other schedules, organize replacements and supervise lunches.-
- Contribute to the recruitment, hiring and retention of staff.-
- Assist the Principal in the evaluation and supervision of teachers and administrative staff, to ensure a favorable environment for the evolution of professional practices, to achieve TFS teaching standards, in accordance with the objectives defined in the strategic plan.- Teaching and Learning portfolio_- Implement the academic programme and projects in liaison with the Leadership Team and the Teaching and Learning Team.-
- Implement the PYP Community Project and Service as Action throughout the PYP-
- Ensure assessments for tracking purposes are completed and moderated in line with the assessment policy.-
- Ensure the effective integration of the French program within the PYP framework.-
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning.-
- Participate in Teaching & Learning meetings.-
- Implement both initiatives and best practices which will improve the learning experiences offered to our students as well as encourage academic ambition.-
- Share with teachers best practices, acting as a role model, in order to help them grow in their chosen field.-
- Drive the implementation of the procedure on student progress.-
- Manage student progress for Jardin to Grade 1 and communicate the relevant information to the concerned staff members so that they can support the students in their academic aspirations.- Educational Mission_- Ensure common understanding and respect for TFS values in terms of positive student behavior.-
- Work with teachers and the learning forum to ensure the well-being of students and encourage them to be polite, wear their uniforms with pride and respect the TFS code of conduct.-
