Job Summary
Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), with accountability to the Research Manager, the RESPONDER Partnership Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management of a SSHRC-funded Partnership Grant which explores aid worker and peacekeeper-perpetrated sexual exploitation and abuse. The incumbent will provide leadership and expert level technical advice into the implementation and conduct of the project, including being responsible for the overall project plan and activities, staffing and training, and share financial accountability with the Research Manager. The incumbent will establish project priorities, ensure there is active communication with the Project Team, Project Partner Organizations, and various Project governing committees, and promote effective collaboration with the study investigators and trainees. The incumbent will present results, including preparing reports to the funder, preparing publications, developing scientific presentations for meetings and conferences, and presenting results in more innovative and non-traditional formats to maximize impact.

**Job Description**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop, maintain and monitor a detailed project management timeline and task set; recommend and design research plans, and set priorities and project objectives.
- Manage the project budget and be responsible for monitoring and reporting, as per funder/institution guidelines, and in coordination with the Research Manager in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
- Ensure there is appropriate compliance with financial record keeping and reporting requirements; analyze information for budget evaluation.
- Support recruitment and engagement of external members of project governance committees
- Develop and prepare project materials, including printed recruitment materials, and printed and online data collection forms.
- Ensure the research project runs in accordance with the research protocol, and keep track of the project according to the project timeline.
- Establish research schedules, monitor project progress, evaluate data, and make recommendations to resolve research problems and changes in procedures, where necessary. Report progress to the PI on a regular basis.
- Lead research project related meetings: prepare agendas, minutes, and other meeting materials.
- Ensure there is on-going and effective communication across all project stakeholders at all project sites and proactively identify and manage conflict.
- Manage and analyse data.
- Participate in dissemination of research project findings by: preparing, editing and reviewing manuscripts for publication; writing reports; and preparing academic presentations for conferences.
- Monitoring team progress to ensure deliverables are met.
- Develop staffing strategy, participate in staffing and hiring committees, provide recommendations into employee selection and trainee assignment.
- Plans, prioritizes and manages the work of employees, providing strategic and tactical advice, guidance and coaching. Identifies the need for staff resources, participates on staffing committees, and makes effective recommendations regarding employee selection.
- Manages performance by establishing performance standards, reviewing and evaluating performance and conducting formal performance reviews on an ongoing basis.
- Assesses staff training and development needs, and ensures that employees receive raining required to improve and sustain successful performance.
- Investigates, addresses and resolves employee/labour relations issues, including disciplinary matters. Makes decisions or effective recommendations on matters involving possible discipline, discharge and probationary termination.
- Continuously seek opportunities to celebrate team accomplishments and strengths and build team capability and effectiveness.
- Undertake other duties as delegated in support of the successful conduct of the research project.
- Develop and implement community engagement activities to promote the RESPONDER project and support meaningful engagement of the RESPONDER project with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community partners. This includes but would not be limited to posting social media content, an alumni strategy, a newsletter, website creation, review and maintenance.
