**Overview**
The Saskatchewan Research Council’s (SRC) Rare Earth Element Division is seeking a Research and Development Manager to lead the Research and Development (R&D) team. This role oversees employees, budgets, and processes to achieve strategic goals while promoting innovation and safety.
**Accountabilities**
Oversee engineering and project plans to ensure delivery on schedule, within scope, and budget
- Direct mechanical design and engineering documentation for projects within the R&D group; oversee design standards, validate technical specifications, and maintain compliance with project requirements
- Analyze technical challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions
- Supervise preparation of documents for tendering and procurement
- Manage and support team members by setting clear objectives, providing guidance, and evaluating performance while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment
- Support continuous employee development and enforce best practices for quality work
- Communicate effectively across departments and with senior management
- Promote SRC’s health and safety culture by directing all work to be performed safely, and lead the integration of safety into every R&D project**Qualifications**
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the engineering field, preferably process or chemical engineering
- Registration or eligibility to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) is required
- Post-graduate degrees considered an asset**Skills**

- Ability to build and maintain relationships to ensure meaningful client engagement
- Good teamwork skills, with the ability to develop strong collaboration within teams
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines, while exercising sound judgment and taking initiative to complete project requirementsThis position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
