**Job Description**:
Accountabilities:
- Provide immediate assessment and intervention for individuals who present to the Emergency Department in crisis due to symptoms associated with a serious and severe psychiatric, addiction and/or psycho-social problem
- Work collaboratively with hospital colleagues in a fast-paced environment
**Qualifications**:
- Masters degree in Social Work, Masters degree in Nursing and/or Master's degree in Counseling/Psychology with a combination of relevant experience in mental health and addictions
- Registration with the appropriate professional college
- Minimum of three years recent, related experience in crisis intervention in the fields of mental health and addictions
- Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of best practice guidelines in crisis intervention and crisis theory
- Excellent assessment and counseling skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with and advocate for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness
- Demonstrated ability to develop care plans for those in crisis
- Demonstrated ability to develop and foster community linkages and resources
- Demonstrated commitment to providing quality customer service in dealing with the public (patients and families) as well as various clinical professionals
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Self-directed and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision
- Proficiency in computer skills mandatory
- Excellent attendance record
