As the building maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the interior and exterior areas of the facility are clean and safe for staff. We are looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated individual to join our team.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Creating and maintaining a prioritized list of facility repairs and maintenance tasks
- Obtaining quotes for maintenance projects, presenting options for management approval, and coordinating project execution
- Coordinating with external vendors for forklift and crane inspections, shop heater servicing, and overhead door repairs
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance expenses, supply purchases, and project progress
- Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery, tools, and building systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting, emergency lighting, coffee stations, etc.)
- Directing janitorial service for routine cleaning and sanitation
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff and management
- Ensuring maintenance areas are clean, organized, and safe, with proper storage of tools and equipment
**Applicant Requirements**:
- 2+ years of maintenance or facilities experience (industrial or manufacturing preferred)
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and mechanical systems
- Fluent spoken and written English and good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds individually or 100 pounds with assistance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt, multitask and meet timelines
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Legally eligible to work in Manitoba
