Our Edmonton facility is looking for an **Industrial Sewing Machine Operator.** In this role, you will operate industrial sewing machines to join canvas, tarp, and other industrial fabrics in order to produce tents, rig tarps, insulated blankets, and various custom products.

**Job Duties**:

- Operate single, double, and multi-needle sewing machines to produce tents, rig tarps and insulated blankets
- Read blueprints, drawings, and work instructions in order to sew fabric
- Inspect own work in order to find and correct defects, damages, or errors
- Monitor sewing machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions
- Verify fabrics, threads, and parts; move/handle materials as required

**Requirements**:

- Experience operating industrial sewing machines such as Singer, Union Special, Brother, Juki, and Consew
- Excellent hand/eye coordination
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English in order to communicate effectively

**Work Conditions**:

- Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm; occasional overtime may be required
- sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, stooping, and pushing/pulling
- Will be required to lift/move objects weighing up to 10 lbs on a regular basis
- Repetitive tasks
- Area is well-ventilated, but there may be occasional exposure to uncommon odours from different fabric
