Our 61,000 square foot facility allows us to offer our customer base an expanded range of injection molding equipment, with presses ranging in tonnage from 28 to 2500 ton, along with new automation equipment to handle your extended run or touch sensitive requirements.

We are currently looking for a **Process Technician** to join our team in Kitchener, Ontario on **Afternoon Shift (Monday-Friday 2:45PM - 11:00PM $0.50/hr Shift Premium).**

**Process Technician for Night Shift (Sun-Thurs 11 PM - 7 AM $1.00 Shift Premium)**

**Pay range is $31.00 - $35.00 depending on shift and relevant experience.**

**Signing bonus of $2000 paid out after 6 months of employment.**

The Process Technician position is responsible for the development and continual startup of injection molding processes. To analyze and understand part defects and their related causes and adjust the process to ensure parts are to dimensional, visual & cycle time specifications. Support multiple departments through the PPAP trials & production stages of programs. The main objective of the technician is to ensure the quality and the consistency of the plastic & cycle times, as well as to help solve any issues that arise and help deal with the situations immediately. 

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITES**

**_Processing & Production_** - **70%**
- Perform start-up, diagnosis and troubleshooting of the injection molding presses, all auxiliary equipment and all secondary production equipment while ensuring that safety and quality are the prime initiative.
- Analyzing machine-related problems, providing technical guidance and taking the appropriate corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of production schedules.
- Independently perform machine adjustments within allowable parameters, perform routine machine and mold maintenance tasks and minor repairs on all production equipment, including molders and peripheral quality equipment on assigned lines.
- Work alongside Set-up Technicians, Resin Technicians & Robotics Technicians to ensure the successful & continual startup of molds
- Detailed completion & tracking of start-up procedures, process verification, process change log documentation and other standard operating procedures.
- Support engineering processes development, manufacturing procedures development, standardized work procedures, work instruction, cycle times, data collection and analysis, estimates, schedules, test results, corrective and preventive action, continuous improvement, and preparing associated reports.
- Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts.
- Assist with special projects, initiatives and other duties as assigned

**_New Program Launches _**_-_**20%**
- Support the Plant Manager, Program Management & Quality teams through the development & PPAP process of new programs by providing expert advice on mold development, processes development & work cell design
- Develop & document sustainable processes below quoted cycle times & scrap rates that deliver dimensionally & visually acceptable parts

**_Miscellaneous Tasks_**
- Participate in shift hand off meetings to ensure successful transfer of knowledge
- Attend production scheduling, quality & training meetings as required
- Mentor and guide set up & resin technicians as required
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5 or more years of experience of running plastic injection molding machines - preferred experience in the automotive or medical industry
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints, bills of materials, and GD&T combined with quality assurance and control experience
- Demonstrated Plastic/Automation manufacturing experience
- Hands on experience with measuring tools and testing equipment

**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS**
- Solid experience with quality management & PPAP processes, production design engineering, and suppliers to provide components and assemblies that meet or exceed specified QMS requirements
- Supervisory and leadership experience is an asset
