**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**:As a member of the Housing and Homeless Services team, the Teller will manage the funds of the Voluntary Trustee Program, including all client accounts and be responsible for the financial records, reporting and administration of cash float. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Case Management and Clinical Programs and is apart of **CUPE 2289.**

**MAJOR DUTIES**:

- Manages the day-to-day accounting, financial procedures and accuracy of the Trustee Program finances.
- Ensures accurate record of client spending and cash flow forecast
- Maintains up to date daily cash disbursement journal
- Monitors client account balances and prepares daily account reconciliation
- Ensures cash withdrawal forms are properly completed and signed
- Disperses funds to Trustee Program clients as per the direction of Trustee staff
- Prepares cheque requisitions and float replenishments
- Maintains adequate amount of float and ensures money is kept in safe
- Provides Trustee staff with accurate client account statements
- Inspects expenditures and disbursements ensuring proper procedures and controls
- Prepares daily cash balance report and accounts reconciliation
- Prepares adjusting entries
- Act as privacy officer in relation to databases, in adherence with PHIPA
- Analyse bookkeeping differences and prepares variance report for management review
- Prepares bank deposits and updates account balances
- Assist with weekly bank deposit of client cheques into our Scotia account
- Assist with weekly Petty cash pick up from Scotia bank
- Assist with weekly deposit of clients funds into their accounts. This is what we call “Bank Run”
- Assist with reception coverage as requested
- Assist with client database reconciliation
- Attend assigned meetings to record minutes

**REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum Secondary School Diploma with (Commercial) Accounting Training
- At least 2 to 3 years of cashier experience including adherence to financial controls and procedures
- Ability to accurately record and monitor expenditures, withdrawals, cash balances, client account statements, cheque requisitions, cash balances and account reconciliation
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently
- Experience in a not for profit agency an asset
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, AccPac and Outlook
- Current police record check

**Salary**: $24.58 per hour
