**Overview**:
**Mistahimaskwa House**
This program is for youth 12-19 who have been exposed to substance, physical and mental abuse, sexual exploitation, physical/mental trauma and who also have severe complex mental health needs. Mistahimaskwa/PCC is a program designed to help youth with their mental health needs in a residential setting with extra supports such as; higher ratios of staff and in collaboration with supports from Alberta Health Services who are on site daily. These are youth who currently cannot be supported in other residential setting. With the support from both CSS and AHS, we work clients using harm reduction principles and practices to which promote empowerment and stabilization.
**Job Summary**:
The Program Supervisor for the Mistahimaskwa (aka Personalized Community Care of PCC) program ensures that the children and youth located at the treatment prograM/Facility experience a safe, warm, and positive environment, where their basic needs are met (food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, etc). Additionally, the Program Supervisor supports the shift leads in ensuring staff receive required training, supervision and support in providing direct services to clients with humility, compassion and respect. This position also represents the Agency within the community and liaises with community partners.
**Job Duties**:
Employee Management
- Understands, supports, promotes, and adheres to the Agency’s vision, mission, values, and organizational ethics, and treat all persons with humility, compassion, and respect
- Presents as a positive and professional role model and ambassador for the Agency in interactions with clients, stakeholders, and the public. Maintains respectful personal boundaries.
- Communicates effectively and respectfully in a professional and confidential manner with all Agency employees, and internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure that appropriate therapeutic, educational, recreational, medical, psychiatric, psychological, spiritual and other related aspects of client care are implemented according to the child/youth assessment and/or treatment plan.
- Provides regular supervision to shift lead(s) focusing on promoting positive client outcomes and supporting the shift leads in realizing service deliverables.
- Support direct reports ensure all file documentation is completed by employees in a timely and accurate manner congruent with Agency expectations.
- Monitors case management and client files as required and contributes to service planning.
- Participates in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees and providing opportunities for orientation and training as required.
- Oversees the completion of mandatory training requirements by employees.
- Collects, approves and submits timesheets and leave of absence requests.
- Integrates employee feedback about service delivery needs into additional training for employees.
- Reviews, completes & submits incident reports, serious occurrence reports and/or other administrative duties in a precise and timely manner as per Agency policy and procedures.
- Debriefs with employees about serious occurrences or critical incidents.
- Provides on-the-job supervision to students and volunteers as required.
- Provides support over the phone and possibly on-site through an on-call after hours rotation.
Administration/Other
- Prepares reports and documentation as required by the Program Manager
- Completes and submits monthly documentation as per standard procedures on or before assigned due dates, such as employee time sheets, month-end progress report, case notes, mileage, cheque requisitions, etc.
- Attends and actively participates in scheduled team meetings. Supports team initiatives and helps to identify problems and suggest solutions
- Attends and actively participates committees as required
- Prepares for, attends and participates in partnership meetings with Children’s Services, Alberta Health Services (AHS) and other partnering Agencies. Provides updated information about child/youth outcomes in order to evaluate the services offered to children and youth.
- Attends and actively participates in trainings/employee development programs
- Updates the Program Manager on activities and developments in the Program
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, financial resources, and service delivery
- Participates in policy and procedure reviews as assigned and reviews policy and procedure updates and COA standard changes.
