**Duties**:
This position is responsible for the supervision, coordination and delivery of healthcare and clinical services to offenders in an institutional setting within the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC). They also contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans and operational policies and procedures. They supervise a team of nursing staff, service providers and support staff, providing input into human resource requirements within budgetary allocations, including overseeing contracts for professional services.
**Work environment**:
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering court imposed sentences of a term of two years or more. CSC manages various security level institutions and supervises offenders under conditional release in the community. CSC's mandate is to contribute to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and human control.
**Intent of the process**:
The intent of this process is to staff positions who will be required to work shifts, variable hours, weekends, and statutory holidays at the Shepody Healing Center.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
- Current registration as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse in a province or territory of Canada*, with no conditions or restrictions.
EXPERIENCE:
- **Experience in one or more of the following areas: psychiatric, medical-surgical, emergency or other related fields.
**Normally associated with experience gained over three consecutive years within the last five years.
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary environment.
EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.
- Relevant additional certifications.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience managing human resources.
- Experience managing financial resources.
- Experience in program management such as needs assessment, planning, organizing, coordinating and evaluation.
- Experience in coordinating Health and/or Training Programs.
- Experience in dealing with Indigenous communities.
- Experience in dealing with community-based health organizations, such as public health or mental health.
- Experience in planning, developing, coordinating and supporting the implementation of comprehensive formal discharge/post release plans for individuals with complex medical problems.
- Experience working in a correctional environment.
