With a dedicated team of service-oriented colleagues from the front of house to the award-winning kitchen brigade, Thierry Cafe is a quintessential taste of Paris in the heart of Vancouver.
Thierry Busset is widely regarded as one of the finest pastry chefs in North America. Our shop boasts a stunning room featuring classic chocolates, macarons, cakes and pastries; all items are hand-made daily using only premium ingredients. Barista-crafted espresso and liquid chocolate beverages are also a central part of the cafe, complimented by a selection of sandwiches, soups, and savoury offerings. We are also licensed and offer a selection of wine and spirits to complement our wide array of products.

Thierry is looking for a new Store Manager to oversee its newest location. The Store Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the day-to-day operations of the café and will show a commitment to excellence in all that they do. The incumbent will work closely with both FOH staff and the Pastry team to ensure that customers receive the highest levels of service excellence.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
(Other duties may be assigned as required)
Operate all aspects of the front of house with focus on exceeding daily sales goals
Lead all team members in delivering consistent, memorable moments of hospitality for our guests
Proactively identify, evaluate, and continually improve service strategies to always ensure our customers receive best in class service
Organize and complete the administrative set up and break down of service, including the creation of staffing plans and menus
Continuously provide leadership and support to all service staff and actively participate in the cycle of service, as needed
Recruit, onboard, train, performance manage, and schedule FOH staff to build a strong performing team dedicated to hospitality, and achievement of business goals
Work closely with the Pastry Chef and culinary team to support and deliver a unique culinary experience and to ensure alignment on business goals and initiatives
Ensure excellent maintenance and cleanliness of the front of house and ensure health and safety standards are met and maintained
Ensure all fixed assets are in good working condition, oversee preventative maintenance of assets
Collaborate with management team to keep a continuous pulse on all guest feedback channels, seeking opportunities to improve the guest experience and cultivate regulars and continue to find ways to strengthen our community
Proactively respond to third party review sites and guest comments in coordination with the Communications team
Generate business growth through local marketing initiatives
Ensure shipping and receiving to other café locations operates effectively; conduct inventory counts
Merchandise product in accordance with company and brand standards
Assist with photo shoots to develop Communications assets for website, social media, promotional collateral, etc.
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
Completion of post-secondary courses in business or a related field
At least three years of customer service experience at a supervisory level in a hospitality/restaurant environment
Proven commitment to a premium level of quality in both guest service and the overall operation of the establishment
Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated commitment to immediate service recovery solutions
Skilled at developing and creating experiences that drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
Superior communication skills with the ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, clientele, suppliers, and partners
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle conflicting deadlines
Level 1 and Level 2 Food Safe Certification is required
Serving It Right License is required
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
