Starting Salary: $26.00-$30.00/hour. Wages scaled based on experience.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for the training, mentoring and performance management of the A/P department.
- Reporting directly to Management they will prioritize the efficacy of the A/P department; accurately reviewing and processing vendor invoices, assemble invoices to be completed for payment, perform data entry associated with accounts payable, and monitoring for discount opportunities.
- Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance company policies and procedures, working closely with our Purchasing team to maintain positive partnerships.
- Reconcile vendor statements. Research and resolve outstanding Accounts Payable items and resolve unusual and unique Accounts Payable situations, as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with our inventory department to ensure claims and product are correctly invoiced to purchase orders. Following up on unsettled claims for payment or deduction.
- Address and respond to vendor inquiries relating to A/P, including but not limited to unpaid invoices and payment discrepancies.
- Assists with special projects and ad hoc work when operationally needed.
**Essential**:
- 1-3 years experience in a general financial environment.
- 2-3 years work experience in a high volume accounts payable environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of accounts payable practices and accounting principles.
- High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Sound judgment and problem solving skills.
**Desirable**:
- Intermediate to Advanced level in spreadsheet programs.
- College or University accounting courses or completion of a diploma or degree with a major in accounting
- Experience leading the implementation of new processes and systems.
