We are seeking two Housing First Case Managers to join our Community Services Team.

Position Title: Housing First Case Manager.
This staff position encompasses a variety of duties, including assessment, support, intervention, advocacy, consultation, education, referral and case management inclusive of a superior level of oral and written reporting. The successful applicant will have a comprehensive understanding of, and belief in, Housing First Principles. All team members must possess the ability to offer support, empathy and compassion to clients in a non-judgmental and professional manner.
Position Profile: Full-time; Primarily Monday-Friday, with ability to participate in Flex Time Scheduling); 40 hours/week.
Direct Supervisor: Community Services Team Lead.
Qualifications:
- Preference given to applicants of Indigenous, Metis and Inuit ancestry
- Knowledge of intergenerational impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples of Canada
- Knowledge of Cree and Dene communities and culture of our region
- A comprehensive understanding of Housing First Principles;
- Preferred: Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Psychology or complimentary field of study
(A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered);
- Experience working with Homeless and other vulnerable populations;
- Strong Residential Tenancy Act knowledge base;
- Motivational Interviewing skills;
- Sound understanding of ethical Social Work boundaries and practices;
- Ability to work individually with mínimal supervision, as well as within a team;
- Ability to advocate for clients and issues related to homelessness;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines;
- Valid Class 4 Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 3 months);
- Ability to provide Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check;
- Required to sign and abide by Code of Ethics and Oath of Confidentiality;
- Ability to speak indigenous language considered a strong asset;
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning opportunities--particularly with regards to Indigenous culture;
- Knowledge of our agency's Vision, Mission & Core Values and dedication to work within and towards these goals;
- Knowledge of relevant social issues facing our clientele such as homelessness, poverty, addiction, trauma, abuse, Indigenous culture and the effects of colonization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct effective case management using a variety of assessment tools, intake and information gathering;
- Develop, implement and monitor and adjust case management plans in consultation with client(s), team and supervisor to achieve the outcomes of the individuals and families being served.
- Provide counselling, mentoring and coaching to individuals and families in an individual and/or group setting.
- Determine and make appropriate referrals to external providers and/or services;
- Advocate on behalf of clients with other community service providers to ensure all clients receive all services to which they are entitled;
- Provide support and psychosocial education to clients;
- Accurate, timely attention to all required record-keeping and documentation;
- Participate in ongoing program development evaluation and quality improvement opportunities;
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other community service providers;
- Participation in ongoing training opportunities;
- Participation in other duties and projects assigned by the Team Lead or Executive Director.
**Salary**: $30.70-$34.03 per hour
