**Sales Manager**

**Responsibilities**
- Act as an Oak Bay Beach Hotel ambassador with regards to sales events and activities.
- Respond to all leads over 10 total room nights in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
- Provide appropriate follow up to ensure success in signing new business
- Track lost business, including the reasons behind the loss
- Create and manage a prospecting plan to target new business and foster relationships.
- Budget, plan, and participate in sales calls & trips as required
- Manage all contracted room nights per the contracted business budget.
- Set growth targets for each segment and manage accounts to ensure strong relationships.
- Prepare month end report for DOS to outline monthly activities/upcoming events/challenges etc.
- Track incoming lead and lead changes monthly ensure accurate and up to date information on tracking sheets.
- Ensure OTB is kept up to date with accurate numbers and forecasting.
- Work with Marketing Manager to ensure marketing pieces are accurate and up to date at all times.
- Ensure accuracy and client management is kept up to date and accurate in hotel PMS.
- Rate building and processing contracts as required.
- Prepare and execute contracts, including contract negotiations
- Maintain a keen understanding of all OBBH contract clauses.
- Manage an online presence to represent OBBH for hotel sales via linked in, repost etc.
- Liaise with required departments to plan for local client drops as needed.
- Create customer appreciation events host clients for meals/FAMs etc. as required.
- Foster a relationship with team members and work together to exceed hotel and personal goals.
- Oversee development of Sales Coordinator/Representative, assist in reviews. Work alongside and train/performance manage as required to ensure success.
- Consistently seek ways to increase business levels.
- Foster relationships with key competitors to ensure competitive knowledge and market understanding.
- Follow outlined procedures for quoting rates and negotiations with direction from DOS.
- Outline annual travel needs and research other opportunities for OBBH to be represented and marketed.
- Provide trip reports following travel alongside budgeted and actual expenses to show ROI.
- Attend weekly prospect and tentative meetings with DOS and Revenue Manager to strategize on winning business and speak to challenges in the market.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- 2+ years’ experience in a hotel sales role
- Opera/OSEM experience preferred
- Travel will be required up to 20% of the time
- Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of customer service
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and willing to take on new challenges and risks
- Highly organized and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
