The Central Maintenance team maintains BCP’s residential and commercial buildings, including retail shops, restaurants, a cinema, and a laundry facility. As a Central Maintenance Assistant, you'll ensure all facilities stay in excellent condition, provide 24-hour on-call support, and foster positive relationships with tenants. **Duties and Responsibilities**: - Perform routine and preventative maintenance in commercial and residential buildings following company standards and operating procedures. - Troubleshoot and conduct minor repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances. - Handle general grounds maintenance and snow removal for all commercial properties. - Maintain service levels and positive relationships with commercial tenants. - Provide on-call responses to tenants outside normal hours, ensuring a response time of 20 minutes or less. - Work safely - Obey all health and safety policies and procedures and report injuries and hazards immediately. - Additional duties as assigned to support the operations of the Central Maintenance team. **Skills and Experience**: - Self-motivated with a "can-do" attitude and strong desire to learn. - Aptitude for mechanical systems and a logical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving. - Ability to work independently, using initiative and good judgment when seeking help. - Friendly, professional, and customer-focused. - Hands-on experience in building maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and painting. - Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ownership of responsibilities. - Physically capable of performing tasks such as bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs. above head height), and working safely at heights (up to 40 ft on a ladder, 85 ft on a manual lift). - Bobcat operator’s license is an asset. - Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and multiple on-call shifts. - Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license (or eligible to convert from out-of-province or overseas).
