Reporting to the Director of Finance & Legal, this is a role with an opportunity to participate and shape corporate decisions. The Finance Analyst is responsible for a number of financial, accounting, and analytical duties. The Finance Analyst plays a critical role as a business partner for each of the organization’s business units.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the company’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.
- Prepare monthly management finance reports with analysis of the key performance metrics and review of the forecast and budget variances to the Director of Finance and Controller.
- Work closely with senior management in various business units to provide financial insight and ad hoc reports in connection with projects.
- Participate and support cross-departmental strategic project.
- Prepare routine governmental obligations deliverables (GST/HST, excise tax, provincial sales tax, provincial worker safety board, T2 Corporation income tax return, T4, etc.).
- Provide transactional, reporting, and analysis support for period close tasks.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of the corporate budget.
- Prepare calculation of fees (i.e., sales commission, customer rebate, etc) as needed.
- Perform all reasonable work activities as assigned by manager.
- Ensure that financial and accounting policies and programs are followed in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

**Qualifications**:

- 2 years in a Finance Analyst role or related role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution organization is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline.
- Experience using an enterprise resource planning software. NetSuite skills is preferred.
- Proficiency with advanced skills in Microsoft office suite tools with heavy emphasize on Microsoft Excel.

You will need to be a strong problem solver. Your ability to understand the upstream/downstream impacts of internal decisions on finance and cross-departmentally will be paramount. You must be able to conduct a deep financial analysis of information and produce actionable suggestions that will be used to develop business strategies. While completing assigned projects and tasks are expected, self-initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to provide improvement suggestions based on sound research will be an immense asset.

**What is expected of you?**

Detail oriented with strong capabilities in analytical, planning, and organizing in the finance function. Ability to develop and maintain courteous and collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to communicate ideas and analysis clearly, and effectively to executive management as well as to large working groups.
