A Sanitation Technician in plastics recycling plays a crucial role in ensuring that the recycling process is efficient, environmentally friendly, and produces high-quality recycled materials. Working within a team-based environment, the Sanitation Technician is responsible for practising the Sanitation processes, tasks and responsibilities which contribute to the efficient and safe operation of the plant.

**Responsibilities**:
- Follow all sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Regularly clean and sanitize work area to prevent contamination and maintain hygiene standards.
- Follow frequency of daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks.
- Maintain all sanitation equipment and replace when necessary.
- Monitor sanitation chemical inventories and escalate at re-order point.
- Maintain, calibrate and clean equipment to ensure it operates effectively and efficiently.
- Preform routine inspections to identify and address any issues that may affect the quality of the material.
- Implement corrective actions to address problems and prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with other team members, supervisors, and managers to communicate issues, improvements, and updates.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of the job, including equipment operation, handling of materials, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Train new employees on sanitation procedures, protocols, and related equipment operation.
- Keep up to date detailed records of all sanitation checks.
**Education/Skills/Experience**:
- Previous quality/sanitation experience would be an asset.
- Previous experience with Sanitation chemicals and handling.
- Must pay attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
**Working Environment and Physical Demands**:
- The technician may be required to lift and carry heavy bags of plastic materials or other equipment. This could involve lifting weights ranging from a few pounds to potentially heavier loads.
